How to perform the Ushas Mudra Sit in a Comfortable Position:   Find a comfortable seated position for your meditation or yoga practice. You can sit on the floor or on a chair, as long as your spine is straight and your body relaxed. Relax Your Hands : Start by resting your hands comfortably on your thighs or knees, palms facing upward. Take a few deep breaths to relax your body and mind. Varun Mudra

Varun mudra is effective to increase water element in the body. Due to its impact on a Jal element in the body, it is also called as a jal-vardhak mudra. Water is the major component in  Kapha  and Pitta  Dosha .The practice of this mudra helps to increase Kapha and  Pitta within the body. Our body has 75 per cent of water which plays major role in every activity of our health system as it  is present in protoplasm of cells,extracellular fluid, lymph, blood, tears,saliva,mucus,digestive,juices,enzymes,hormones, semen,cerebrospinal fluid. But beware, person who has cough or acidity needs to practice this mudra not more than 20 minutes. Experience: I describe here one of my experiences here out of many beneficiaries from this mudra. Gyan Mudra

I am practising Gyan mudra from last 30 years and found several benefits from it in my health. I thought to share my some experiences with you so it may benefit to you at some point of life. In my days of studies,   I have issue of lack of concentration while studying. Normally mind starts thinking of something else while reading science or languages. At same time, I normally forget the things at the time of examination. My grandfather told me to do gyan mudra, and to my surprise after doing this for 9 months, my both issues got resolved. Thereafter, I never left to practise this mudra till now.  In my office work, I work constantly on PC for 6-7 hours at a stretch. Because of Gyan Mudra, I never suffered from Syringomelia, which is common now-a-days in 60% of desktop users.
